Staff Node.js Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and implement scalable backend services using Node.js that serve as the foundation of this team platform.

• Spearhead system design for intricate, distributed backend projects, guiding them from requirements gathering to production deployment.

• Make critical technical choices regarding the performance, reliability, and scalability of services interacting with GPU management and foundational infrastructure.

• Work in close collaboration with infrastructure, platform, and product teams to ensure that backend architecture aligns with business objectives.

• Set and maintain engineering standards, including code quality, testing, observability, and documentation.

• Provide mentorship to senior and mid-level engineers; take part in technical recruitment and team development.

• Detect and address performance bottlenecks, scaling challenges, and architectural debt.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional backend engineering experience, with a strong focus on Node.js.

• A proven history of designing and scaling distributed backend systems in live production environments.

• Exceptional system design capabilities: microservices, API design, data modeling, asynchronous patterns, and event-driven architectures.

• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, message queues, and caching solutions.

• Outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Located in a timezone that provides 4–6 hours of overlap with IST working hours (10am–7pm IST).
