Staff Node.js Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and implement scalable backend services using Node.js that serve as the foundation of this team platform.

• Lead the system design for intricate, distributed backend projects - from initial requirements to production deployment.

• Take ownership of technical decisions concerning the performance, reliability, and scalability of services that interact with GPU management and low-level infrastructure.

• Work collaboratively with infrastructure, platform, and product teams to ensure backend architecture aligns with business objectives.

• Set and maintain engineering standards, including code quality, testing practices, observability, and documentation.

• Provide mentorship to senior and mid-level engineers; participate in technical recruitment and team development.

• Detect and address performance bottlenecks, scaling challenges, and architectural debt.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in backend engineering, with significant expertise in Node.js.

• Demonstrated history of architecting and scaling distributed backend systems in production environments.

• Strong skills in system design, including microservices, API design, data modeling, asynchronous patterns, and event-driven architectures.

• Familiarity with both relational and non-relational databases, message queuing systems, and caching solutions.

• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Reside in a timezone that offers 4–6 hours of overlap with IST working hours (10am–7pm IST).
