Staff Node.js Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and implement scalable backend services in Node.js that serve as the foundation of this team platform.

• Lead the system design for intricate, distributed backend projects - managing everything from requirements to production deployment.

• Take ownership of technical decisions regarding the performance, reliability, and scalability of services that interact with GPU management and low-level infrastructure.

• Work closely with infrastructure, platform, and product teams to ensure backend architecture aligns with business objectives.

• Set and maintain engineering standards including code quality, testing, observability, and documentation.

• Mentor both senior and mid-level engineers; play a role in technical recruitment and team development.

• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, scaling issues, and architectural debt.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in backend engineering.

• Extensive expertise in Node.js.

• Demonstrated success in architecting and scaling distributed backend systems in a production environment.

• Strong skills in system design: microservices, API design, data modeling, asynchronous patterns, and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases, message queues, and caching mechanisms.

• Located in a timezone that allows for 4–6 hours of overlap with IST working hours (10am–7pm IST).
