Staff Node.js Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Armenia.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, and implement scalable backend services using Node.js that serve as the foundation of our team platform.

• Lead the system design for intricate, distributed backend projects—from gathering requirements to production deployment.

• Take ownership of technical decisions regarding the performance, reliability, and scalability of services that interact with GPU management and low-level infrastructure.

• Work closely with infrastructure, platform, and product teams to ensure that backend architecture aligns with business objectives.

• Establish and maintain engineering standards, including code quality, testing, observability, and documentation.

• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers; participate in technical hiring and contribute to team development.

• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, scaling challenges, and architectural debts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in backend engineering, with extensive expertise in Node.js.

• Demonstrated success in architecting and scaling distributed backend systems in a production environment.

• Strong capabilities in system design, including microservices, API design, data modeling, asynchronous patterns, and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases, message queues, and caching mechanisms.

• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Must be located in a timezone that allows for 4–6 hours of overlap with IST working hours (10am–7pm IST).
