Staff GTM Data Scientist

Posted May 7

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead the Experimentation Roadmap: Establish, advocate for, and implement a strategic roadmap aimed at measuring impact across PandaDoc, concentrating on significant business inquiries related to customer workflows, churn risk, and long-term value (LTV).

• Advanced Experiment Design: Create, execute, and thoroughly analyze sophisticated A/B tests, multivariate experiments, and adaptive experimentation techniques, including the use of Bayesian methods, to evaluate the effectiveness of suggested product modifications and business strategies.

• Causal Inference Beyond A/B: Utilize advanced causal inference methodologies (e.g., difference-in-differences, synthetic control, propensity score matching, and instrumental variables) in instances where randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are not feasible.

• Deep Dive Analysis: Perform intricate, proactive, and exploratory analyses to uncover hidden user behavior, emerging trends, and the root causes of fluctuations in key metrics, translating these insights into actionable product and business recommendations.

• Develop Measurement Frameworks: Establish, instrument, and manage a cohesive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework that aligns low-level product health metrics with high-level business results, ensuring consistent and scalable measurement throughout the organization.

• Scaling Data Science: Collaborate with Data Engineering to design and create scalable, self-serve experimentation tools and reusable analytical assets and frameworks (e.g., causal machine learning models) that empower other analysts and data consumers.

• Strategic Influence: Function as a strategic thinker by converting complex statistical findings into clear, persuasive, and actionable business narratives for cross-functional partners and senior leadership (VP/C-suite), informing strategic decisions and investment priorities.

• Mentorship and Training: Act as a technical subject matter expert, providing training and mentorship to junior and mid-level data scientists on best practices in statistical rigor, experimental design, and causal modeling.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience in applied data science, economics, or product analytics roles, showcasing a proven ability to utilize experimentation and causal inference techniques to drive significant business outcomes.

• B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. A Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Econometrics, Operations Research) is preferred, but not mandatory.

• Proven expertise in a variety of Causal Inference methods, such as Quasi-Experimentation, Matching Methods (PSM), Difference-in-Differences, and/or Instrumental Variables.

• Proficient in advanced statistical methodologies for A/B testing, including sample size calculations, sequential testing, managing interference/network effects, and variance reduction techniques (e.g., CUPED).

• Mastery of advanced statistical modeling, time-series analysis, and quantitative techniques necessary for conducting thorough exploratory data analysis, generating timely insights, and offering actionable recommendations.

• Advanced proficiency in Python or R for statistical modeling, with experience utilizing relevant data science libraries (e.g., SciKit-Learn, numpy, pandas).

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and experience with established data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Postgres).

• Familiarity with data transformation and workflow management tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Databricks is highly advantageous.

• Strong skills in Strategic Communication & Influence, Change Management, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations. Relevant experience in a SaaS domain with a strong emphasis on Product Data Science is strongly preferred.
