Staff Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate on significant customer big data projects, including the creation of reference architectures, development of how-to guides, and the construction of efficient, robust, and scalable production-ready tools and technologies.

• Provide strategic advice to customers on transformational big data initiatives, encompassing third-party migrations and the comprehensive design, build, and deployment of advanced big data and AI applications.

• Offer expertise in architecture and design, while supporting key customer projects to facilitate the successful adoption and integration of Databricks solutions.

• Work in partnership with Engineering and Customer Support teams to deliver feedback, address engagement-specific issues, and promote continuous product enhancements.

• Manage and guide multiple diverse projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with well-architected principles and quality standards, proactively identifying and mitigating risks, while building strong customer trust.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience with Big Data Technologies such as Apache Spark™, Kafka, Cloud Native, and Data Lakes in a customer-facing post-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role.

• More than 6 years of experience independently working on Big Data Architectures.

• At least 2 years of experience in AI-based implementations including RAG, MCP, Context engineering, etc.

• Strong proficiency in the Databricks ecosystem.

• Comfortable with coding in either Python or Scala.

• Experience across various Cloud Platforms (GCP / AWS / Azure).

• Proficient in documentation and white-boarding skills.

• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities that transform business challenges into reliable technical products.

• Development skills in technical areas that support the deployment and integration of Databricks-based solutions to complete customer projects.

• Outstanding stakeholder management skills to collaborate with both technical and domain experts.

• Highly customer-focused, innovative, with the ability to think beyond current paradigms and propose enduring solutions in the GenAI landscape.
