This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Spearhead the establishment and execution of the enterprise architectural data vision, improving organizational agility and fostering innovation throughout the Oura data domain landscape by designing and refining data mesh products.
• Act as a principal advisor to enterprise architecture, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams (Data and Analytics, CI/CD, Engineering) to formulate a roadmap for a cohesive data platform that facilitates advanced analytics, reporting, and AI/ML applications.
• Nurture and lead a community of senior domain and data architects, creating the enterprise-level reference architectures, principles, and standards necessary for achieving our goals.
• Propel enterprise-wide transformation by instituting robust data modeling, lineage, and quality standards, integrating them into the core of Oura's development and operational processes.
• Lead strategic conversations with global stakeholders to ensure that technology investments align with overarching business objectives, including considerations for data sovereignty and residency across various jurisdictions.
• Influence high-impact initiatives and RFPs as the primary architecture partner, ensuring that all significant technology decisions are in harmony with Oura's strategic data vision and long-term operational effectiveness.
• Over 10 years of experience operating at the Staff Enterprise level within a large organization.
• More than a decade of experience overseeing data transformation projects, focusing on designing and executing large-scale data transformations with an emphasis on AI coding and governance.
• Proven experience as a leading Enterprise Data Architect, developing data platforms, models, and integrations across various domains (e.g., IT, Finance, HR, Operations, Supply Chain, Corporate).
• Acknowledged as an authority in modern data architectures (e.g., cloud data warehouses/lakes, event streaming, semantic layers, BI/analytics tools) and their role in facilitating analytics, reporting, and AI.
• Practical experience in establishing and enforcing data modeling, governance, and quality standards (e.g., lineage, catalog, classifications, SLAs) across diverse teams.
• Proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Operations, HR, Engineering, IT, GRC) to convert business concepts and strategic directions into practical, scalable data designs.
• Strong understanding of business architecture and capability engineering, particularly in relation to expansive global data environments.
• Exceptional communication skills, with a history of producing clear diagrams, documentation, and decision materials that assist non-technical leaders in grasping data trade-offs and options.
• Demonstrated expertise in AI at an individual contributor level: frequent use of LLM assistants and agents (e.g., Claude) in data-centric tasks (research, modeling, documentation, impact assessment).
