Staff Engineer – Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Define, strategize, and oversee large-scale technical projects.

• Identify potential risks and provide guidance on technical decision-making.

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable systems from the frontend to the backend.

• Deliver high-quality production features while ensuring performance and reliability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate issues across various systems and services.

• Promote robust application and infrastructure security practices.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to clarify project requirements.

• Articulate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders and team members.

• Serve as a technical mentor, providing guidance to junior and mid-level engineers.

• Stay updated on emerging tools and industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–15 years of experience in software development.

• Strong expertise in frontend technologies, specifically React and TypeScript.

• Proficiency in backend development using Node.js (experience in Kotlin is a plus).

• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL and DynamoDB.

• Extensive experience with API integration and managing third-party APIs.

• Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud infrastructure.

• Proven skills in system design, architecture, and performance enhancement.

• Comprehensive understanding of best practices in application and infrastructure security.

• Practical experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker (Kubernetes experience is a plus), and YAML configuration.

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and QA best practices.

• Experience in mentoring and coaching engineers, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
