Staff Engineer, OT Digital Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Implements digital and automation solutions across Hershey’s manufacturing facilities.

• Assists in the deployment of digital manufacturing solutions in alignment with the Hershey Digital Factory initiative.

• Oversees the execution of digital systems and solutions, including cost estimates, feasibility studies, interpretation of requirement specifications, and recommendations.

• Offers leadership and expertise for projects utilizing AVEVA PI and HiveMQ software suites.

• Identifies opportunities to enhance the value generation of the digital manufacturing suite of applications.

• Mentors and coaches engineers, fostering technical skills and leadership development.

• Collaborates with engineering and IT team members to achieve measurable value for Hershey.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or a closely related field.

• 8 years of experience in leading and designing digital automation and controls projects.

• Advanced knowledge of Connected Worker software platforms, including Augmentir.

• Proficiency in programming languages/scripting such as IEC 61131-3, C#, Python, SQL, etc.

• Familiarity with modern software architectures, including microservices, containers, OSI Model Layers 1-4, and cloud computing technologies.

• Experience in industrial control system integration using open integration protocols like OPC/MQTT Unified Namespace Architectural Standards.

• Knowledge of state-of-the-art software control components and systems.

• Strong comprehension of industry and business standards.
