Staff Engineer I, AI, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and development of backend services based on Java (Spring Boot, microservices)

• Develop solutions across various workflow platforms (Temporal, Camunda, Flowable, JBPM, Drools, Appian)

• Create AI-driven service capabilities for automating workflows and enhancing decision support

• Promote the use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Copilot) ensuring robust validation and engineering standards

• Implement AI-native methodologies: intelligent routing, context-aware processing, and integrated decision support

• Spearhead microservices and event-driven architectures for scalable systems

• Collaborate with architects to convert design into implementation

• Provide technical leadership through design/code reviews, mentoring engineers, and promoting best practices

• Support CI/CD, DevSecOps, and cloud deployment initiatives (OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS)

• Facilitate the development of reusable services and shared platform components

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

• 8–10+ years of experience in enterprise backend development

• Strong proficiency in: Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and integration patterns

• Knowledge of workflow orchestration platforms

• Experience in integrating AI capabilities into enterprise systems

• Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture

• Familiarity with: PostgreSQL / Oracle, CI/CD, DevOps, OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS

• Knowledge of tools such as Copilot, Claude, or similar

• Demonstrated ability to lead design efforts, mentor engineers, and foster alignment
