Staff Engineer, Digital Audio Workstations

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and oversee digital audio platforms along with content delivery systems.

• Assist in audio processing, encoding, streaming, and distribution workflows.

• Oversee the audio content lifecycle, which includes ingestion, storage, metadata management, and publishing.

• Guarantee high-quality audio delivery across web, mobile, and streaming platforms.

• Create and sustain automation solutions for audio operations and media workflows.

• Diagnose and resolve audio quality issues, streaming failures, and platform performance challenges.

• Collaborate with content, engineering, and product teams to provide audio solutions.

• Manage integrations between audio platforms, content management systems, and third-party services.

• Monitor the health of platforms, streaming performance, and user experience metrics.

• Implement best practices to ensure audio quality, scalability, reliability, and security.

• Support initiatives in digital broadcasting, podcasting, and on-demand audio.

• Conduct root cause analysis and resolution for production incidents.

• Establish standards, processes, and governance for audio platform operations.

• Optimize infrastructure and workflows to enhance operational efficiency.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on digital audio projects.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and deliver effective solutions.

• Ensure adherence to content rights, licensing, and regulatory standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5.5 years of total experience.

• Extensive experience in Digital Audio Engineering, Audio Technology Platforms, and Media Infrastructure.

• Profound hands-on knowledge in Digital Audio Processing, Encoding, Streaming, and Audio Delivery Technologies (Essential).

• Significant experience with Audio Content Management Systems and Digital Media Workflows (Essential).

• Practical experience with audio editing, mixing, mastering, and broadcasting technologies.

• Strong grasp of audio codecs, compression standards, and streaming protocols (Essential).

• Experience with cloud-based media platforms and audio content distribution networks.

• In-depth experience with automation and workflow optimization in digital media settings.

• Experience managing extensive audio content libraries and metadata systems.

• Practical experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms.

• Strong understanding of audio quality assurance, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Experience in integrating audio platforms with third-party applications and APIs.

• Familiarity with podcasting, internet radio, OTT audio, and streaming ecosystems.

• Experience in monitoring, analytics, and performance optimization of audio platforms.

• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and content rights management.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
