Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Influence and steer the long-term and mid-term architectural choices of the platform.

• Establish and advance technical standards concerning services, infrastructure, observability, and CI/CD.

• Serve as a steward of technical quality, minimizing complexity and technical debt.

• Collaborate closely with Tech Leads, SREs, and Tech Managers to clarify complex decision-making processes.

• Design and enhance shared platforms and services, including infrastructure, pipelines, templates, SDKs, and internal tools.

• Ensure production systems maintain high levels of reliability, scalability, and security.

• Lead efforts in observability, troubleshooting, and responding to critical incidents.

• Foster an outstanding Developer Experience by refining build, deployment, testing, and operational workflows.

• Mentor engineers across various levels, elevating the technical standards of the organization.

• Convert business requirements into elegant, incremental, and sustainable technical solutions.

• Make decisions based on metrics, data, and tangible business impact.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior, staff, or principal engineer.

• In-depth knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.

• Comprehensive experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).

• Exceptional proficiency in observability, troubleshooting, and production systems.

• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).

• Background in CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code.

• Excellent communication, influencing, and mentoring abilities.

• Capability to make intricate technical decisions while balancing business, engineering, and operational considerations.

• Not mandatory, but beneficial:

• Significant experience in platform or SRE teams.

• Experience working on large-scale projects utilizing Python.

• Knowledge of event-driven architectures.

• Understanding and application of DDD, Clean Architecture, and Ports & Adapters.

• Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.

• Ability to articulate complex technical decisions in a straightforward manner.
