Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Architectural Design: Play a key role in shaping and evolving the architecture of our technological solutions, ensuring they are scalable, resilient, secure, and high-performing.

• Mentorship: Guide engineering teams by coaching them on best practices in software development and engineering processes.

• Code Development: Actively participate in hands-on coding and contribute to the development of essential features and functionalities.

• Cross-Business Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business subject matter experts, Product Designers, and other stakeholders to ensure technology aligns with business goals.

• Quality Assurance: Assist in fostering a strong testing culture and ensure compliance with coding standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Research and Innovation: Stay informed on emerging technologies and propose solutions that can enhance our product offerings.

• Compliance and Security: Collaborate with compliance and risk team members to implement security measures that protect sensitive financial data.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of extensive experience in agile software design and development for AWS Cloud.

• Ideally, at least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: banking, payment processing, KYC, AML, customer onboarding, UX, and data analytics.

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks, with a strong advantage for expertise in Python, Java, and React/Native.

• Significant experience in deployment, release management, testing, observability, and alerting principles and standards.

• A proven history of prioritizing automation to enhance velocity and quality as an investment in the business.

• Extensive experience in developing and refining standards and mentoring software engineers in design, implementation, testing, automation, code quality, and cybersecurity.

• Strong record of leading engineering initiatives while closely collaborating with business team members.

• Significant experience in translating business requirements into technical specifications through close collaboration with stakeholders.

• Extensive background in developing API frameworks, ensuring zero downtime releases, seamless rollbacks, versioning, and backward compatibility.

• Strong experience in evaluating and implementing enhanced development tools and practices.
