This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and take ownership of the company's foundational AI infrastructure, which encompasses the shared systems, integration patterns, and runtime environments that underpin all AI-powered initiatives.
• Make critical foundational decisions that will serve as a basis for others, including model selection and abstraction, orchestration patterns, data access layers, and deployment benchmarks.
• Architect the platform to enable teams to independently extend it for new use cases, minimizing the need for your involvement.
• Develop the operational layer necessary for teams to have confidence in their deployments, including logging, evaluations, cost tracking, latency monitoring, and feedback mechanisms.
• Design and construct the company's agent framework and skill library—reusable components that teams utilize for automating workflows, connecting systems, or expanding AI capabilities into novel areas.
• Establish the interfaces, contracts, and composition patterns that empower squads to confidently create new agents and skills without having to reinvent essential infrastructure.
• Ensure that the framework accommodates various complexities, ranging from simple single-step automations to intricate multi-agent workflows that span systems and teams.
• Assist internal teams in transforming 'we have an idea' into 'we have a working implementation' by providing the necessary technical scaffolding, guidance, and support.
• Create internal tools, documentation, and onboarding pathways to make the platform genuinely accessible for team members throughout the company.
• Develop abstractions that simplify AI development while still allowing for complex cases.
• Serve as a technical partner for teams adopting the platform, helping them overcome obstacles, apply patterns correctly, and avoid early pitfalls.
• Collaborate with Product to identify opportunities where AI capabilities can alleviate friction, speed up workflows, or reveal possibilities that internal teams have yet to explore.
• Maintain a feedback loop with internal customers to ensure the platform evolves according to actual work practices, rather than assumptions from the roadmap.
• Define how the company evaluates, adopts, and evolves AI capabilities responsibly, establishing standards for safety, reliability, and quality that are consistent across teams.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to align AI infrastructure with broader architectural strategies and ensure long-term system health.
• Participate in organization-wide technical discussions, contributing a platform and infrastructure perspective to decisions that influence how AI initiatives are executed throughout the company.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant expertise in platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
• Experience in constructing shared systems that other engineers build upon, along with an intuitive understanding of what drives the success or stagnation of internal platforms.
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems (such as LLM integrations, tool-using agents, retrieval pipelines, or similar projects), coupled with a proven track record of enabling other builders to engage confidently with those systems.
• Strong instincts for API and abstraction design, adept at exposing the right surface area while concealing unnecessary complexity.
• Familiarity with MCP or comparable tool-use and integration patterns.
• Proven experience in scoping and delivering greenfield technical projects, including making early architectural decisions that endure over time.
• Collaborative and transparent by nature, with the capability to lead cross-functional alignment without needing formal authority.
• A clear understanding of the disparity between AI functioning in demonstrations and in production, along with experience in bridging that gap.
• Actively seeks out product and cross-functional context, motivated by the opportunity to advance work across teams, rather than solely within the engineering department.
• Nice to Have: Experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks.
• Background in internal developer platforms, enablement engineering, or technical program leadership.
• Experience in defining and implementing engineering standards across a multi-team organization.
• 401K with an employer match
• Health, dental, vision, life insurance, and coverage for short-term and long-term disability.
• Flexible spending account for healthcare and dependent care.
• Wellness Reimbursement
• Work from Home Reimbursement
• Flexible vacation policy
• Parental leave program
• Company Issued Laptop
