This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance and optimize our database infrastructure to ensure peak performance and reliability, initially focusing on PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora.
• Develop and implement effective monitoring, tuning, and scaling strategies to accommodate our growing SaaS platform.
• Create automation and tools to simplify database management, emphasizing consistency and repeatability.
• Lead optimization efforts that improve overall system health and availability.
• Transition into broader Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) responsibilities beyond the database layer, influencing our infrastructure and reliability culture as we expand.
• Over 8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Database Administration positions.
• Extensive knowledge of PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora, with practical experience managing production workloads at scale.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js, with a comfort level for working closely with application code.
• A solid background in designing and operating highly available, scalable databases.
• Demonstrated ability to enhance database performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement best practices.
• Strong engineering principles and a passion for constructing reliable systems.
• Bonus Points: Experience using Terraform or Terragrunt for infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of Prisma or similar ORM frameworks.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Familiarity with Redshift or other data warehouse solutions.
