Staff Data Scientist – Payments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Payments team to create and develop essential datasets, metrics, and analytical frameworks that facilitate product strategy and business decision-making.

• Examine customer behavior, product utilization, and transaction activity to produce actionable insights that enhance payment experiences and foster business growth.

• Conduct research on onchain payment ecosystems, blockchain transaction data, and competitive payment solutions to guide product development and market positioning.

• Spearhead strategic analyses that uncover new opportunities for product innovation, operational efficiency, and revenue enhancement.

• Develop scalable reporting, dashboarding, and automation solutions utilizing SQL, Python, and business intelligence tools to amplify organizational effectiveness.

• Present analytical findings through engaging visualizations and data storytelling tailored to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.

• Shape product and business strategy by collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Business leaders to promote data-informed decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Advanced skills in SQL and proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or R.

• Extensive knowledge in statistical modeling, experimentation, causal inference, and quantitative methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to independently lead large-scale analytical and data science projects from unclear problem statements to measurable business results.

• Significant experience influencing product strategy, business decisions, and engaging senior stakeholders through data-driven insights.

• Proven track record in developing scalable data products, analytical frameworks, and self-service capabilities that enhance organizational leverage.
