Senior Data Scientist – Fraud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Model Development: Prototype, assess, and assist in the production of machine learning models aimed at fraud detection; take ownership of their continuous monitoring and retraining cycles.

• Experimentation: Create and execute experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of fraud interventions, balancing customer experience with loss mitigation.

• Risk Assessment: Evaluate fraud typologies across our product offerings to guide prioritization and investment strategies.

• System Maintenance: Develop and sustain anomaly detection systems to identify new fraud vectors before they escalate.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with fraud operations teams, engineers, product managers, and data analysts to convert model outputs into actionable real-world solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A robust foundation in statistics, supported by a degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields).

• Over 5 years of experience in data science, decision science, or risk analytics within fraud, payments, or financial crime sectors.

• Practical experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production setting; experience in fraud, risk, or financial services is highly advantageous.

• Strong understanding of data science principles: experimentation, statistical inference, model evaluation, and feature engineering.

• Proficient in Python and SQL; adept at navigating the complete model development lifecycle.

• An investigative mindset, with a passion for exploring data to uncover patterns that others may overlook.

• Capability to convey technical findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders and translate insights into practical actions.

• Comfortable operating within fast-paced, cross-functional teams with high expectations for ownership.
