Staff Data Scientist – International, CJKI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and craft the comprehensive data strategy for China, Japan, South Korea, and India.

• Act as a senior analytics partner to the country leaders of CJKI and regional marketing teams.

• Ensure that the perspectives of CJKI users are integrated into Canva’s global product and growth initiatives.

• Identify structural factors driving growth and areas of friction.

• Establish top-tier standards for experimentation and measurement.

• Supervise the development of reliable, scalable data products.

• Function as a force multiplier within the International Data team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data, growth, or product analytics.

• A trusted advisor to C-level executives.

• Possess systems thinking that connects product, marketing, monetization, lifecycle, and market dynamics.

• Proficient in English and able to communicate in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, or Korean.

• Develops long-term measurement philosophies and success frameworks.

• Designs and evaluates intricate experimentation programs.

• Proactively identifies unclear, undefined issues and brings clarity to them.

• Balances the need for global scalability with local specificity.

• Effectively communicates complex concepts with clarity and confidence.

• Extensive expertise in SQL and Python.

• Highly skilled in modern analytics ecosystems (e.g., Snowflake, Mode, NetSpring, Omni) and experimentation tools (e.g., Pilot or similar).
