This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Act as the on-site electrical subject matter authority for all commissioning efforts, serving as the main escalation point for technical challenges throughout all project stages.
• Evaluate contractor submissions, shop drawings, and O&M documentation to confirm they align with design intent and project specifications.
• Ensure that Owner Project Requirements (OPR) stay consistent with the commissioning scope during the entire project lifecycle, tracking modifications and maintaining traceability to project goals.
• Supervise third-party commissioning agents (CxA), including the development of scope, performance monitoring, deliverable tracking, and management of activities like factory witness testing and startup validation.
• Identify equipment that requires factory testing and collaborate with the procurement team to schedule vendor testing activities.
• Review and validate factory testing procedures for compliance with project specifications prior to execution; oversee Factory Witness Testing (FWT) for equipment manufactured off-site.
• Review and endorse commissioning documentation including the Cx Plan, L2–L5 test scripts, reports, and turnover packages.
• Manage quality control processes, including first-of-kind inspections and validation of installations.
• Lead the identification of issues, troubleshooting, remediation, and formal closure across all commissioning phases.
• Ensure all commissioning activities—both static and dynamic testing—are in accordance with approved plans and performance standards.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration among construction, engineering, controls, and operations teams throughout all project phases.
• Manage stakeholder expectations by clearly defining commissioning procedures, roles, and levels of engagement.
• Ensure that all commissioning documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and facilitates a seamless project turnover.
• Assist in the transition to operations by providing technical guidance, coordinating training, and offering post-handover support as necessary.
• Uphold safety, compliance, and regulatory standards across all commissioning activities.
• 7+ years of experience in data center commissioning, construction, or the delivery of critical infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; equivalent commissioning experience will be considered (CxA certification is a plus).
• Extensive knowledge of commissioning levels L1 through L5 and the corresponding documentation and testing requirements at each phase.
• Practical experience with data center systems, including power distribution and EPMS infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in managing third-party commissioning agents and holding vendors accountable for scope, schedule, and quality.
• Proficient in reviewing and interpreting technical documentation, including construction drawings, single-line diagrams, submittals, and test procedures.
• Strong skills in cross-functional coordination with the ability to align construction, engineering, controls, and operations teams around commissioning objectives.
• Experience in issue tracking, risk management, and project reporting across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Solid understanding of safety and compliance requirements within active construction and commissioning environments.
• Willing to travel to project sites as needed (approximately 75% travel).
