β’ Establish and maintain the craft standards for Mercury's brand.
β’ Oversee the most technically intricate and high-profile brand design projects from start to finish.
β’ Collaborate with a senior brand designer and creative leadership to co-guide the advancement of Mercury's creative vision.
β’ Provide hands-on oversight of craft quality across the Brand Studio's deliverables.
β’ Commission and direct external creative talent, including photographers, illustrators, and motion designers.
β’ Create brand system documentation and frameworks for decision-making.
β’ Mentor IC3 and IC4 designers through constructive critique, collaborative pairing, and direct feedback.
β’ Work alongside brand strategists, copywriters, PMMs, and leadership.
β’ 7β10+ years of experience in brand design, with a background in high-craft environments such as agencies, fashion, premium consumer brands, or design-oriented technology.
β’ An exceptional portfolio showcasing mastery of typography, layout, color, and composition across diverse brand contexts.
β’ A distinctive and well-defined aesthetic perspective.
β’ Proficiency in brand systems, with a strong understanding of how to create for scalability and consistency.
β’ Experience functioning at a staff level, demonstrating the ability to work independently, influence without formal authority, and make impactful decisions that affect an entire teamβs output.
β’ Expertise in Figma and practical experience in contributing to or managing a design system.
β’ Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
β’ The discernment to know when to focus closely and when to take a broader view, with the discipline to balance both perspectives.
β’ A sense of curiosity, restraint, and a genuine enthusiasm for creating meaningful work.
