Staff Backend Engineer – Node, Typescript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design, development, and upkeep of the core backend platform that enables a real-time 3D commerce environment.

• Establish the technical architecture of the company from the ground up.

• Oversee the complete system design encompassing APIs, automated pipelines, workflow engines, search infrastructure, and queuing systems.

• Engage in a dynamic, stealth startup environment with minimal technical debt.

• Work alongside cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to convert complex requirements into scalable, high-performance solutions.

• Assist with light MLOps initiatives and incorporate advanced computer vision and AI technologies within the backend.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a software engineer focusing on backend systems.

• Proficient in backend development with TypeScript (Node.js).

• Extensive knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.

• Experience in managing AWS infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Pulumi, Terraform, or CloudFormation.

• Expertise in technical design, including system architecture, interface/API design, and data/object modeling.

• Experience in constructing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and test suites from the ground up.

• Familiarity with integrating backend systems with AI/ML models, or a strong eagerness to engage in light MLOps tasks within a CV+AI setting.

• Robust understanding of queuing systems, nightly data jobs, workflow engines, and search indices.

• Capability to lead technical discussions, take ownership of the architecture, and excel in a fast-paced startup atmosphere.
