Staff Backend Engineer – Financial Ledger

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take initiative in steering the Financial Core, questioning assumptions, and collaborating closely with finance and engineering leaders.

• Confirm the accuracy of lifecycle flows and reconciliation processes.

• Manage ledger-style economic events, including revenue and profit recognition, cost normalization, and client/supplier balances.

• Enhance the reliability of the financial model while maintaining stringent financial invariants in a distributed, event-driven setting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of backend engineering experience, with a substantial focus on financial or transactional domain logic.

• Proven experience in developing real financial systems such as payment platforms, billing infrastructure, ERP systems, or subscription services.

• Proficient in evolving complex production systems in a responsible manner without disrupting existing processes.

• This position requires hands-on ownership; it is not merely a theoretical role.

• We anticipate you possess in-depth, practical knowledge of: Ledgers and Reconciliation: Creating systems that guarantee deterministic accuracy.

• Understanding of liabilities, revenue and profit recognition, and monetary flows.

• Capability to articulate and manage the complexities of the financial domain at a high level (e.g., multi-currency, intricate tax logic, or multi-party settlements).
