Staff AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the product team during the discovery process, providing technical feasibility insights and recommending optimal methods for implementing identified features.

• Define and enhance the software architecture of the product, including the multi-tenant model, by applying best practices and techniques to ensure a robust, secure, and scalable system from the outset.

• Develop and improve the orchestration layer of agents, including stateful flows, external tool calls, and failure recovery mechanisms.

• Implement the security layer of the product: defenses against prompt injection, execution sandboxing for agents, and data isolation between tenants.

• Build and evolve the observability infrastructure: tracing LLM call executions, monitoring execution costs, and ensuring quality in production.

• Develop and maintain the model routing layer, abstracting multiple LLM providers based on trade-offs regarding cost, latency, and quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience in software development within production systems, with a firm grasp of engineering best practices such as SOLID principles, API design, automated testing, and architectural patterns.

• Hands-on experience with LLMs: practical integration with model APIs, tool usage, and function calling.

• Knowledge of AI agent orchestration frameworks and the construction of stateful flows.

• Experience with multi-tenant distributed system architectures, focusing on security, traceability, and data isolation.

• Solid understanding of specific threats in LLM systems: prompt injection, data exfiltration via agents, and misuse of connected tools.

• Proven experience with AI-native development — fluent use of Claude Code and/or similar tools as a core part of the workflow. The squad's development model presumes assisted autonomy through AI throughout the entire cycle: code writing, reviewing, testing, and documentation, including Spec-Driven Development (SDD) practices.

• Comfort in navigating a highly ambiguous environment — the product is being built from scratch, with no established processes or usage history to reference.
