Staff AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design and development of production AI systems along with their technical architecture.

• Construct and enhance multi-model AI pipelines and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows.

• Set the technical direction for AI projects within the engineering organization.

• Develop and uphold AI evaluation frameworks, observability tools, and safety measures for models.

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and data integrity of AI solutions.

• Assess emerging AI technologies and propose effective implementations.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to create high-quality AI-driven products.

• Employ AI tools to boost engineering efficiency while ensuring software quality is maintained.

• Strive for continuous enhancement of AI performance, system architecture, and engineering practices.

• Contribute to establishing long-term standards and best practices for AI engineering within the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding English communication abilities, both written and verbal (minimum C1 level).

• A positive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to collaborate and tackle challenges.

• Proven track record in developing production AI systems utilizing LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and contemporary AI frameworks.

• Robust experience in building and deploying machine learning systems beyond just generative AI.

• Demonstrated expertise in designing orchestrated multi-model and agentic AI applications.

• Experience in creating AI evaluation frameworks, observability tools, and model safety measures.

• Strong grasp of AI architecture, system design, and best practices in production engineering.

• Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with fine-tuning large language models is an advantage.

• Comfortable using AI tools to enhance productivity while upholding strong engineering judgment.

• A self-motivated individual with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
