This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Design, architect, and assist in developing automation frameworks to facilitate the rollout of microservices.
• Create reference examples to establish a streamlined approach for Specification Driven Development utilizing AI Dev Tooling.
• Conduct research, assess, and propose technologies and usage patterns in collaboration with development and DevOps teams across the organization.
• Offer coaching, mentoring, and expertise in standard tools used for software development while helping to shape the future roadmap.
• Foster collaboration with architects, development teams, and DevOps engineers within WEX and external teams to ensure adherence to corporate compliance.
• Implement and maintain solutions that are highly available, secure, compliant, resilient, and capable of operating across multiple regions.
• Address production and service escalations effectively.
• Lead incident management and root-cause analysis with a composed approach and a focus on service enhancement.
• Coordinate with the SRE team for service upgrades and compliance-related initiatives for the platform infrastructure.
• Develop high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions, ensuring thorough testing and documentation of solutions and processes.
• Automate tasks to enhance consistency, reduce complexity, and minimize human intervention wherever feasible.
• Collaborate as a key member of productive engineering teams that prioritize code quality, continuous delivery, peer reviews, and robust engineering practices.
• Proven experience with Specification Driven Development utilizing AI tooling.
• Proficient in *nix operating systems and scripting in Python and Bash.
• Cloud expertise in AWS, focusing on security, VPC networking, and the creation of high availability architectures and autoscaling.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Background in developing REST API-based services.
• Experience in establishing a comprehensive DevOps environment and CI/CD platform from the ground up, leading to canary releases, A/B testing, and blue/green deployments.
• Previous role as a DevOps engineer within an engineering team that develops cloud-native platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud monitoring to maintain ongoing oversight of platform/application performance, billing, security, and anomaly detection.
• A strong desire and ability to rapidly learn new technologies and automate routine tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
