SRE, Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Oversee and sustain essential infrastructure systems with a strong understanding of Linux (preferably Debian/Ubuntu).

• Engage closely with hardware components: BIOS, IPMI, RAID configurations, and hardware diagnostics.

• Design and manage scalable networks utilizing VLANs, L2/L3 routing, VPNs, and particularly UniFi equipment.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operations utilizing Ansible, Bash/Python, and Git-based workflows.

• Establish and oversee observability stacks, including Prometheus/Grafana for metrics and Graylog, ELK, or Loki for log centralization.

• Develop tools for server discovery, configuration auto-generation, automated OS deployments, PXE/Preseed/Cloud-init, and robust MAAS-based provisioning.

• Integrate and/or develop internal APIs for monitoring compute and GPU resource allocation, in addition to external APIs (billing, monitoring, OpenStack, etc.).

• Deploy and maintain virtualization and orchestration systems such as OpenStack (preferably using Kolla-Ansible), Proxmox VE, or VMware ESXi.

• Support containerized workloads and efficiently isolate services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in Metal-as-a-Service (MAAS) and bare-metal automation.

• Strong background in Linux.

• Hands-on experience managing large-scale on-premises and cloud-adjacent infrastructures.

• Experience in a startup or hyper-growth environment is highly advantageous.

• Ability to work autonomously with speed and effective problem-solving skills is essential.

• Expert-level Linux administration skills (preferably Debian/Ubuntu).

• Strong experience with MAAS / Ironic / bare-metal automation (mandatory).

• Excellent understanding of networking fundamentals: VLANs, routing, VPNs.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Ansible), scripting (Bash/Python), and GitOps.

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/Graylog.

• Comfort with custom deployment automation (PXE, Preseed, MAAS/Ironic).

• Familiarity with resource tracking, API integrations, and dashboard development.

• Proven experience with OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware, and container orchestration.
