This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the modernization initiatives of CNIC Enterprise Business Solutions as part of the DEOS Task Order.
• Offer database engineering, modernization, migration, performance enhancement, and cloud transformation assistance across environments such as SQL Server 2019, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory.
• Ensure operational continuity throughout the modernization process.
• Work in close collaboration with cloud engineers, application teams, cybersecurity experts, and data architects to facilitate CNIC’s migration strategy.
• Administer, configure, sustain, and optimize SQL Server 2019 database environments that support CNIC applications.
• Construct, manage, and enhance Azure Data Factory pipelines, orchestrations, and data flows.
• Assess existing legacy databases and propose modernization tactics, cloud migration strategies, and performance enhancements.
• Create stored procedures, scripts, tuning plans, and solutions for database automation.
• Provide Tier II/III troubleshooting and escalation assistance for database-related issues.
• Generate engineering documentation, which includes procedures, architecture diagrams, migration plans, and knowledge articles.
• Active Top Secret clearance is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator.
• Practical experience with SQL Server 2019, Azure SQL (SQL Online), and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience in database migration and modernization processes.
• Familiarity with database security, auditing, RBAC, patching, and compliance.
• Experience in performing database performance tuning, monitoring, index optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Background in supporting large-scale modernization or cloud migration projects.
• Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent in Computer Science or a related IT field.
• Must be DoD 8570 IAT II compliant - Security+ CE.
