This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Implement brand strategies and tactics in the field while managing sales performance, overseeing the assigned territory, and targeting specific accounts.
• Establish robust customer relationships and address customer needs to enhance both short and long-term sales performance, ensuring the patient remains central to all efforts and adhering to AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
• Achieve sales performance metrics, brand KPIs, financial goals, and marketing objectives to meet or surpass set targets.
• Develop a pre-call plan utilizing SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continually enhance sales performance.
• Skillfully manage objections, misunderstandings, and concerns while consistently achieving logical and reasonable calls to action to successfully close every sales call.
• Proactively strive to address customer needs, expectations, and challenges in order to foster trusted customer relationships and create mutually beneficial agreements between AbbVie and its clients.
• Create and implement a call plan that meets established call metrics and optimizes both coverage and frequency to key customers, thereby maximizing access and sales opportunities.
• Continuously enhance understanding of customer needs and expectations, the territory's market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease states, products, and clinical and sales expertise while sharing market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to ensure alignment, anticipate environmental changes and challenges, and optimize brand strategy execution.
• Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned health providers and identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with disease state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.
• A bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred; alternatively, relevant and equivalent industry experience is required.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five (5) years of relevant industry experience, including three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science sector, is preferred, along with a high school diploma/GED.
• Proactively recognizes customer styles and behaviors, adapting all aspects of the selling approach accordingly.
• Effectively operates within a matrix environment.
• Demonstrated success in sales with strong presentation skills.
• Proposes innovative ideas and solutions to optimize business opportunities and address challenges.
• Exhibits comprehensive scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge, being acknowledged as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and proficient in using business tools; possesses strategic and critical thinking skills.
• Contributes impactful ideas for the broader organization and anticipates and adapts to changes.
• Influences others and is regarded as a credible and respected role model and resource among peers.
