Specialty Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist with emergency response, environmental response, disaster recovery, industrial hygiene, toxicology, risk assessment, and infectious disease response initiatives.

• Remain readily available for emergency response and extended travel, usually lasting up to 30 days at a time.

• Handle substantial workloads and juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic, time-sensitive setting.

• Work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, overnight shifts, and occasionally, 24-hour shifts.

• Independently operate monitoring equipment and record data accurately.

• Prepare chain-of-custody paperwork for environmental samples.

• Drive non-commercial vehicles to and from project locations.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Assist with air monitoring, environmental sampling, moisture mapping, and site safety tasks.

• Ensure accurate documentation of work utilizing in-house technology.

• Contribute to various projects or operational areas as business requirements change.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Proficient or higher computer skills in a Windows-based environment are necessary.

• Ability to comprehend and adhere to instructions.

• Immediate availability for emergency response and extended travel, typically lasting up to 30 days.

• Capability to manage high workloads and multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, overnight shifts, and occasionally, 24-hour shifts.

• Competence to operate monitoring instruments independently and accurately record measurements.

• Proficiency in preparing chain-of-custody documentation for environmental samples.

• Capability to drive non-commercial vehicles.

• Experience in any branch of the armed forces is preferred.

• Experience and/or proficiency with industrial hygiene equipment is advantageous.

• Familiarity with air and environmental sampling equipment is desirable.

• Relevant experience in emergency response, environmental response, construction management, or similar fields is preferred.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times a day and overhead lift over 20 pounds.

• Capability to bend, stoop, crawl, climb ladders, and wear physically demanding personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Ability to wear APR, SCBA, and hose-supplied respirators with the necessary medical clearance as per 29 CFR 1910.134.

• Capability to don PPE for HAZWOPER site entry under 29 CFR 1910.120.

• Willingness to work outdoors, in extreme weather conditions, hazardous settings, at altitudes exceeding 5,000 feet, and on waterways, sea, or air.
