This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Access, query, and extract data from VHA enterprise systems and files such as CDW, VistA, VSSC, RAMP, PTF (MedSAS), MCA System, PCMM, NPCD, and the VETSNET Corporate Mini Master File to facilitate programmatic reporting and analysis.
• Develop and implement sophisticated computerized models and algorithms to identify, extrapolate, and validate data patterns that assist in decision-making for the Specialty Care Program Office and future business trend forecasting.
• Create and deliver clear, precise data visualizations, including graphs, charts, dashboards, and summary reports, that convey complex mathematical and statistical information in an accessible manner for program managers and leadership.
• Present analytical results and data-driven recommendations to program managers and senior stakeholders, advising on optimal adjustments to business models and operational strategies to achieve beneficial programmatic outcomes.
• Maintain data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across various VHA data sources by conducting routine data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance reviews to support ongoing and ad hoc reporting needs.
• Collaborate with VHA Specialty Care Program Office staff and other stakeholders to define data requirements, document analytical methodologies, and uphold standardized reporting processes in line with federal data governance and contracting standards.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in data management, data analytics, or a closely related area, showcasing expertise in supporting healthcare or federal government programs, ideally within the VA.
• A Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Data Science, Health Informatics, Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related field is mandatory.
• A Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Extensive, practical knowledge of VHA enterprise systems and files such as CDW, VistA, VSSC, RAMP, PTF (MedSAS), MCA System, PCMM, NPCD, and the VETSNET Corporate Mini Master File is essential.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential and adhere to all VA information security, privacy, and system access protocols, including completing required VA cybersecurity training.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident authorized to work in the United States; passing a federal background investigation is required.
• Proven expertise in developing advanced data models, applying statistical algorithms, and communicating data-driven business insights to non-technical audiences in a clear and actionable way.
