Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Oversee and offer instructional leadership, virtual education, and general strategies for a designated group of students.

• Create, draft, and assist in the execution of IEPs and 504 plans.

• Assess tests and evaluations, finalize report cards, and hold parent conferences.

• Maintain regular communication with parents and learning coaches to ensure IEP objectives are achieved.

• Collaborate with teachers to coordinate specially designed instruction for students with unique requirements.

• Provide direct services via web-conferencing software as necessary.

• Organize, schedule, and lead IEP-related meetings virtually.

• Engage in the school’s Student Support Team.

• Support teachers and learning coaches in developing and implementing program modifications and strategies.

• Assist with IEP documentation, paperwork, and procedures.

• Identify service providers and aid in service-provider contracts.

• Ensure accurate data maintenance in the Learning Management System and special education software.

• Assist with state testing and coordinate special adaptations required by IEPs.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related educational field.

• Valid Special Education credential in Kansas.

• Experience with IDEA policy and/or administration of Special Education.

• Proficient technology skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Customer-oriented mindset.

• High level of adaptability.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.

• Track record of being a collaborative team player.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, including potential overnight stays.

• Capability to use a personal electronic device and email for two-step authentication.
