This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver designated course material in a virtual setting
• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning journey
• Concentrate on the unique needs of each student as outlined in their IEP
• Engage with parents and relevant service personnel to ensure suitable therapies
• Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary special education documentation
• Organize and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP sessions
• Apply accommodations and modifications utilizing assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text
• Adjust Stride K12 lessons and assessments to align with IEP specifications
• Guarantee student inclusion and achievement in the general education environment
• Gather data and work samples to track progress towards IEP objectives
• Record parent communication and student interventions
• Evaluate student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies
• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding placement and promotion
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments
• Build positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and parents
• Assist learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues
• Travel up to 20% for in-person professional development, student assessments, and/or school obligations
• Texas Special Education Certification
• Residency in Texas is required
• Bachelor’s degree
• Active state Special Education teaching license
• Capability to pass the mandatory background check
• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week
• Capacity to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office
• Willingness to work Central Time hours, generally from 8am to 5pm
• Skill in collaborating with teachers and interpreting and producing numerical, tabular, and graphical representations of student data
• Proficiency in utilizing student data to inform instructional decisions
• Openness to ongoing coaching from administrators
• Flexibility to embrace change and adapt for optimal student outcomes
• Competence in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Preferred: experience with the specified age group
• Preferred: experience assisting adults and children with technology
• Preferred: teaching experience in either online or brick-and-mortar settings
• Preferred: familiarity with an online learning platform
