This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serves as an integral member of the school's leadership team.
• Oversees, supervises, and/or mentors teachers in the virtual academy by providing coaching and conducting formal evaluations.
• Proactively identifies needs and supports virtual academy initiatives aimed at enhancing student performance.
• Onboards teachers, communicates expectations, establishes and enforces deadlines, and maintains regular office hours to assist both teachers and students.
• Recognizes how the diverse and unique backgrounds of students and their families influence the support needed from both the homeroom and lead teachers.
• Acquires comprehensive knowledge of the K12 curriculum for designated grade levels and demonstrates understanding of its alignment with state standards.
• Modifies course content in accordance with established policies and procedures, utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools.
• Takes responsibility for students' academic progress and attendance, communicates high expectations, and actively engages in supporting homeroom teachers to foster student achievement.
• Develops and maintains a positive relationship with families and teachers.
• Conducts data-driven discussions with teachers.
• Assists teachers with curricular and instructional challenges.
• Balances the adaptability of the K12 curriculum with the academy's policies and procedures.
• Focuses on ongoing tasks/projects related to managing school operations, such as recruiting and interviewing teaching candidates, training new teachers, implementing teacher evaluation processes, facilitating student-teacher matching, ensuring consistency in teaching practices, developing and executing school policies/procedures, serving as a curriculum specialist, coordinating testing readiness, assisting teachers with low attendance and progress issues, preparing regular reports and facilitating communications, and supporting marketing events.
• A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience, including experience as a virtual teacher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must successfully pass the required background check.
• Familiarity with state and charter school laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of State Performance Standards.
• Proven leadership abilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational capabilities.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and able to learn specific student management systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time as required for training, professional development, meetings, etc.
