Special Assistant to CEO

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the execution of dynamic projects and initiatives under the guidance of the CEO.

• Provide quick-response support for essential national initiatives, including frameworks for data interoperability and advocacy for AI policy.

• Serve as a liaison among the CEO, internal teams, and external national partners.

• Identify workflow bottlenecks within the executive office and implement systems or tools to enhance operational efficiency.

• Assist in the planning and execution of high-profile events, national gatherings, and meetings with capital-based stakeholders.

• Collect data, analyze metrics, and perform landscape research on strategic opportunities, shifts in education policy, and federal guidelines.

• Write and edit memos, drafts of congressional testimonies, stakeholder updates, and talking points.

• Facilitate external discussions and represent the CEO in initial introductory meetings as needed.

• Integrate quantitative and qualitative data into comprehensive reports and presentation decks.

• Monitor and manage the CEO's fundraising pipeline, preparing briefings for funder meetings.

• Compose communications for donors, follow-up notes, and strategic outreach materials.

• Collaborate on grant proposals, budget narratives, and reports for funders.

• Provide support for specialized grant funds, task forces, and national initiatives.

• Develop customized collateral for funders and impact summaries.


⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding organizational skills with a proven capability to manage multiple components for an executive.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment and respond to direct constructive feedback.

• Capacity to adapt quickly, exercise professional judgment, maintain confidentiality, and address high-stakes challenges.

• Proficient in Asana, HubSpot, Canva, and other pertinent software and presentation tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Keen attention to visual design and layout of presentation decks.

• A collaborative demeanor characterized by low ego and high accountability.

• Four years of professional experience in management consulting, education policy, non-profit development, or a related fast-paced environment supporting executive leadership.

• Must reside in the United States.
