This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +3 more states.
• Deliver specific Spanish course content in an online setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Concentrate on the individual needs of students and tailor the learning experience.
• Track student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system.
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to promote learning towards set goals.
• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels.
• Enhance course content utilizing designated synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.
• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.
• Notify administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with families.
• Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.
• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.
• Travel as necessary for professional development, student testing, and school functions.
• Valid state Department of Education Spanish Teaching Certification.
• Residency in North Carolina or South Carolina is required.
• Candidates from neighboring states (Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia) may be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active state teaching license.
• Capacity to pass the required background check.
• Ability to work independently, generally exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Capability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during regular working hours, typically 9–5 or 8–4.
• Experience with the specified age group is preferred.
• Experience in assisting adults and children in using technology is preferred.
• Experience teaching in online/virtual or traditional brick-and-mortar environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data.
• Proficient in using student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Willingness to receive ongoing coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Quick adaptability to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Commitment to maintaining teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
