Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collect customer requirements, thoughtfully challenge their assumptions, and convert them into optimal Summit solutions.

• Serve as the primary technical contact for designated opportunities.

• Identify, qualify, design, develop, and present solutions tailored to business needs and constraints.

• Create strategic and technical responses for presentations, proposals, SOWs, and other intricate engagements.

• Cultivate and utilize key client relationships, including at the executive level, to build trust and secure business through a consultative sales approach.

• Collaborate with finance to construct cost-engineering and profitability models for significant customer opportunities.

• Stay informed about industry standards and best practices related to our products and services.

• Consult with other Solution Engineers and internal teams on complex technical challenges or advanced designs.

• Identify and address common technical objections from customers.

• In collaboration with Sales, proactively oversee the opportunity pipeline to ensure timely technical pre-sales support for each opportunity.

• Develop documentation and/or tools to enhance and streamline the sales process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a technical role, preferably in B2B IT or IT consulting sales.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

• Experience in customer-facing sales roles.

• A professional qualification or degree in a technical field.

• Ability to design and deliver customer-facing presentations.

• Familiarity with common tools such as Salesforce, Showpad, ERP, and Office.

• At least 2 years of experience in ISP/Data Center/Managed Services or related sectors providing technical sales support, or at an AWS or Azure Cloud Service Provider with related experience.

• An outstanding candidate will demonstrate expertise in: System administration for both Linux and Windows, and familiarity with Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions using hyperscale cloud services.

• Working knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware, Hyper-V, Xen, or KVM.

• Relevant industry certifications are a plus: Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, CCNA, OpenStack, Cloud Savvy.
