Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement deterministic and agentic automation orchestration for clients utilizing the Itential Platform.

• Integrate with API and MCP servers across standard infrastructure, networking, and IT Service Management (ITSM) systems.

• Utilize and orchestrate existing automation resources from clients, including Ansible Playbooks, Terraform plans, Python scripts, and other artifacts.

• Create agentic automations through prompt engineering that effectively translates operator intent into consistent and reliable orchestration.

• Apply Spec Driven Development in engagements, capturing intent as a clear specification prior to development.

• Conduct technical discovery and solution orchestration to enable successful large-scale production automation.

• Generate engagement deliverables such as High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), and knowledge transfer documentation.

• Facilitate customer sessions with thorough preparation—ready for demonstrations, contextually aware, and capable of real-time adjustments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in professional services, systems integration, technical consulting, or similar relevant fields.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline—or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing), and Linux systems.

• Practical experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and common integration protocols (e.g., NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC), along with familiarity with event-driven platforms such as Kafka and message queues.

• Skilled in Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) for the development, testing, and deployment of automation code.

• Experience in customer-facing roles that necessitate quick thinking and adaptability in real-time.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills—capable of clearly conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Comfortable working in dynamic environments with multiple concurrent projects.
