This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with sales team members to devise, design, and estimate intricate, large-scale, and specialized facilities.
• Manage the Design as a Service (DaaS) intake process, capturing scope and DaaS requests.
• Oversee the design lifecycle while conducting and facilitating Bluebeam session reviews.
• Create, comprehend, document, and enforce standards for templates, naming conventions, versioning, and repositories.
• Provide clarity as the designer-of-record and manage change control.
• Produce, coordinate, and communicate preliminary and detailed design packages.
• Collaborate with partners to identify and implement the latest and most effective technologies in solutions and designs.
• Recognize project risks, special handling requirements, and propose potential solutions.
• Engage in site surveys to verify conditions.
• Align and coordinate with other consultants regarding interfaces and design responsibilities.
• Coordinate security system network backhaul paths, port counts, and integration points with facility IT/network teams.
• Author, interpret, and update Division 28 specifications; ensure consistency with drawings, schedules, and SOWs.
• Monitor project costs, potential risks, and margins to enhance pricing strategies.
• Mentor junior designers and engineers; provide technical reviews and guidance on data center best practices.
• A college degree, trade school education, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7-9 years of experience in design consulting, system design, system commissioning, estimating, project management, and/or installation for complex and large-scale electronic physical security projects.
• Profound expertise in ACS, VMS/CCTV, IDS/PIDS for large, mission-critical environments such as data centers and enterprise campuses.
• Capability to read, analyze, and create Division 28 specifications, support RFP responses, and develop design-intent language; translate specifications and requirements into accurate, buildable design packages.
• Strong ownership of DaaS lifecycles along with a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities across various trades and disciplines.
• Practical knowledge of data center building frameworks and layered security strategies.
• Familiarity with terminology and best practices for securing data center facilities and prevailing industry standards.
• Proficient in Bluebeam (sessions/markups), AutoCAD/Revit markup workflows, and MS 365/SharePoint/Smartsheet (or similar tools).
• Understanding of Revit/BIM execution plans and their implications on coordination and deliverables.
• Strong document control discipline encompassing templates, versioning, and naming conventions.
• Excellent communication, organizational skills, and follow-through; capable of managing multiple concurrent DaaS requests under tight deadlines.
• High sense of ownership and integrity, with clear documentation of decisions and alignment with stakeholders.
• Experience with data centers, global programs, or multi-site rollouts.
• Familiarity with standards and codes relevant to data centers (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27000, TIA-942, NFPA 70/72; awareness of enterprise security standards).
• Exposure to server/VMS sizing and cybersecurity implications for physical security systems.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ASIS PSP, RCDD, and/or manufacturer credentials for major ACS/VMS/PIDS platforms).
