Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Provide architectural designs and professional services to customers of Cohesity.

• Oversee customer transition initiatives from assessment through to the completion of deployment, acting as the technical authority for migration strategies, workload prioritization, and execution planning.

• Identify technical, operational, security, and business risks while establishing transition plans prior to implementation.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to customer architects, infrastructure teams, and executive stakeholders.

• Review and authorize design deviations, implementation decisions, and milestones for deployment readiness.

• Cultivate strategic relationships with key customers and Cohesity teams.

• Collaborate with Cohesity’s product solutions, product management, and engineering teams to align technology capabilities with customer needs.

• Present architecture recommendations, deployment strategies, and technical risks to both executive and technical stakeholders.

• Interact directly with customers to comprehend their organizational needs and determine how Cohesity’s product features can best align with their objectives.

• Create comprehensive solution designs that include architecture diagrams, sizing specifications, integration requirements, and risk assessments.

• Deliver field feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams concerning deployment challenges, feature gaps, automation opportunities, and customer requirements.

• Define technical architecture that includes sizing and performance to meet customer specifications.

• Work with teams to ensure successful deployment of Deployment Designs.

• Establish best practices for deployment designs that translate into project plans.

• Continually enhance deliverables as new features/products are scaled and released.

• Evaluate deliverables for success and opportunities for improvement.

• Collaborate with others to generate post-deployment documentation (run books, pre-deployment templates, etc.).

• Provide constructive feedback to Implementation Engineers, Systems Engineers, and engineering teams to improve the overall experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent field of experience.

• Over 10 years of professional experience in IT.

• Extensive experience is highly desirable in areas such as: Backup Products, NetBackup, and Compute & Virtualization (VMware, vSphere/vCenter, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

• Proficiency in physical systems: Windows, Linux/Unix.

• Familiarity with databases: Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, SAP.

• Knowledge of storage solutions: NAS, SAN, Object Storage, NFS, SMB, S3, and Storage Performance Concepts.

• Understanding of networking concepts: IP Planning, VLANs, Routing, Firewall rules, Load Balancing concepts, DNS, NTP, MTU, and multisite networking concepts.

• Experience with security measures: AD, LDAP, SSO, MGA, RBAC, least privilege access principles, key management, encryption, and ransomware recovery methods.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, Cloud Archival, Recovery Patterns, and Hybrid Cloud.

• Expertise in Data Protection, Data Security, and Data Management.

• Knowledge of Disaster Recovery/Business Continuance, Database Protection, and Recovery.

• Experience in scripting/automation (Python, Ansible, and ServiceNow).

• Exceptional communication and project-related skills are essential.

• Strong writing skills with the capability to create comprehensive documentation.

• A self-starter with outstanding organizational and time management abilities.

• Ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines.

• Expected travel requirement: 50%.

• Proven ability to utilize AI tools to boost productivity, streamline workflows, and facilitate decision-making.

• Proficiency in the English language (capable of interacting with fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in a professional and specialized context).
