Solar Quality Engineer – Asset Performance, Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review electrical and mechanical system designs and installations to ensure adherence to NEC, local jurisdiction requirements, OEM specifications, and company QA/QC standards.

• Evaluate technical documents and installation photographs to confirm that projects align with incentive program guidelines and compliance standards.

• Conduct routine and targeted quality audits on residential solar installations to verify conformity with design specifications, building codes, and company standards.

• Ensure prompt review and completion of assigned project queues in accordance with established service level agreements (SLAs).

• Identify quality-related issues and work collaboratively with internal teams to effectively resolve them.

• Carry out root cause analysis and propose corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

• Assist the QA/QC Manager in achieving departmental objectives, including SLA compliance, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Stay informed about industry standards and best practices pertinent to residential solar.


⛳️ Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in QA/QC, construction, or similar technical roles; experience in solar is preferred (internships or field experience accepted).

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, system designs, and performance data to identify possible issues.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and with external partners.

• Detail-oriented and highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote setting.

• Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as UL, IBC, and NEC.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
