Frontend Engineer, Quality Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the Quality Platform frontend: Design, develop, and sustain the web interfaces that present our agentic testing capabilities to engineers throughout Airbnb.

• Enhance the accessibility of the agentic platform: Convert complex, AI-driven testing workflows into user-friendly interfaces that minimize friction and speed up feedback loops.

• Boost developer and QE productivity: Identify user experience bottlenecks in how engineers discover, execute, and analyze tests, and address them with thoughtful and well-designed frontends.

• Collaborate across the technology stack: Work in close partnership with backend, infrastructure, and applied-AI engineers to effectively showcase platform capabilities within the product in a coherent and scalable manner.

• Team up with the Quality Platform, Mobile Infrastructure, Product Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams to design and create high-quality user experiences.

• Construct and maintain web UI interfaces that provide engineers with streamlined access to the agentic testing platform, covering aspects from executing and orchestrating tests to exploring results, coverage, and insights.

• Actively contribute by crafting high-quality, tested pull requests and reviewing the designs and code of others.

• Develop appropriate tests to ensure the reliability and performance of the software you create.

• Create and present your own design, product, and architecture documentation, while also providing feedback on the work of others.

• Visualize extensive data sets—such as test suites, test cases, test runs, test results, coverage, and run history—in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.

• Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in web development and performance engineering, while collaborating with applied-AI initiatives where the UI highlights agentic capabilities.

• Approach all tasks with a strong opinion, humility, and curiosity, as we consider ourselves our own product managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of engineering experience in the industry.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, TypeScript, React, and other relevant web technologies.

• Familiarity with modern JavaScript libraries and tools (e.g., React, npm, webpack).

• Experience in developing internal tools or developer-focused user experiences, particularly for platforms, infrastructure, or developer/quality tools.

• Expertise in presenting large volumes of data in a clean and concise manner.

• Understanding of Quality Engineering, testing, or automation tools is advantageous but not mandatory; a strong curiosity and willingness to learn about the domain is more important.

• Interest in or practical exposure to Applied AI / LLM-based systems is a plus, as you will be building interfaces for an agentic platform.

• Strong engineering and coding abilities, demonstrating knowledge of practical data structures and asynchronous programming.

• Excellent collaboration skills with colleagues across various time zones.

• Strong communication and organizational capabilities.

• Willingness to work in areas beyond your usual expertise and a desire for personal growth without needing a dedicated product manager.
