API Software Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement API test cases encompassing functional, regression, integration, performance, and security assessments.

• Verify API responses for precision, performance, reliability, and adherence to business requirements.

• Utilize API tools to automate and execute testing suites.

• Examine API logs, errors, and response payloads to detect defects and determine root causes.

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and Test team members to review API specifications and clarify requirements.

• Create and sustain automated API test scripts utilizing scripting languages.

• Integrate API automation tests into CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab).

• Document test cases, results, and defects, providing clear reproduction steps.

• Uphold API quality standards, including performance, scalability, and security best practices.

• Engage in requirements review meetings to ensure testability and quality considerations are addressed.

• Maintain and revise test documentation and procedures.

• Assist in release management activities and deployment testing.

• Conduct compatibility testing across various browsers, devices, and operating systems.

• Contribute to test automation initiatives whenever applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Security + certification.

• Experience in testing web applications and APIs.

• Familiarity with API testing tools (Swagger).

• Proficiency with Gitlab.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
