This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
β’ Oversee the comprehensive delivery of utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from the handoff of development to commercial operation, managing budget, timeline, scope, and risk across civil, electrical, substation, gen-tie, and interconnection workstreams.
β’ Develop and manage integrated project schedules (using Primavera P6 and MS Project) encompassing engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, ensuring the master schedule serves as the definitive source of truth from site mobilization to energization.
β’ Take responsibility for project budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and change-order governance, report on earned-value KPIs weekly, and highlight cost and schedule variances with recovery strategies before they escalate.
β’ Oversee the entire contract lifecycle: including RFPs, bid analysis, EPC and subcontractor awards, PCO tracking, lender and interconnection reporting obligations, and project close-out.
β’ Facilitate mitigation of critical-path and long-lead risks such as transformers, inverters, switchgear, BESS enclosures, and interconnection queue milestones, acting as the primary point of accountability for all internal and external project stakeholders.
β’ Lead construction managers, field superintendents, and project engineers across multiple concurrent solar sites, develop staffing plans, and conduct weekly standups, reviews, and issue escalations.
β’ You have successfully led project management for utility-scale solar or solar-plus-storage projects from Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Commercial Operation Date (COD), delivering within budget, and can articulate the sources of schedule pressures and your resolutions.
β’ You possess a strong understanding of civil, structural, electrical, BESS, substation, and gen-tie scopes, enabling you to identify scope gaps during the bidding process and hold EPC contractors accountable during execution.
β’ You manage project-level budgets effectively: overseeing earned-value tracking, controlling owner-managed contingency, and managing change orders while maintaining a strong commercial position.
β’ You treat interconnection milestones as critical path items, and you have successfully navigated CAISO, MISO, ERCOT, or PJM queue processes without allowing them to dictate your project schedule.
β’ You communicate with clarity and precision, ensuring that a lender, landowner, and field superintendent each receive exactly the information they require from the same status update, tailored to their context.
β’ You have built and expanded field-based project teams across several concurrent sites, with team members you have led advancing to manage projects independently.
β’ Bonus: PMI-PMP certification or equivalent, experience in BESS and substation construction, multi-state concurrent portfolio delivery, and familiarity with lender reporting and project finance interfaces.
β’ Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).
β’ Retirement or pension plan, consistent with local standards.
β’ Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
β’ Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy, aligned with local practices.
