Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician, Level 2

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Conduct advanced inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on solar energy systems.

• Offer guidance to junior technicians to ensure the safe and efficient operation of solar power plants.

• Perform thorough inspections of solar energy systems, encompassing both electrical and mechanical components.

• Create and implement preventative maintenance schedules.

• Independently identify and resolve system issues.

• Generate and maintain comprehensive documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

• Keep updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.

• Assist in enhancing the quality and content of training programs.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the solar industry or a related field.

• Proven understanding of electrical systems, solar energy principles, and grid-tied systems.

• Familiarity with Data Acquisition Systems is preferred.

• OSHA 30-hour and NFPA 70e certifications are preferred.

• FAA Part 107 Certification.

• Experience operating drones for aerial thermographic inspections.

• Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as I/V Curve Tracers, Meggers, and isolation testers.

• Capability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
