Software Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create, write, and implement detailed test cases informed by requirements, user stories, and risk assessments.

• Conduct exploratory testing to identify defects that may not be covered by scripted tests.

• Identify, prioritize, and manage defects until they are resolved, collaborating closely with developers.

• Participate in test planning activities, including defining the scope and estimating efforts.

• Test integrations, data flows, and system behaviors specifically related to VCPM workflows.

• Execute and validate REST API tests using tools like Postman, ensuring the correctness of request/response payloads, status codes, and error handling.

• Engage in CI/CD pipeline processes to support shift-left quality practices.

• Mentor junior testers through paired testing, reviewing test cases, and sharing insights.

• Maintain and enhance existing regression test suites, identifying suitable candidates for automation.

• Provide input during sprint retrospectives with actionable observations on quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in software testing, ideally within an Agile setting.

• Demonstrated experience in a software testing role with practical test case design and execution.

• In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, exploratory testing).

• Experience collaborating within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.

• Proficient in defect management, including root cause analysis and communication with development teams.

• SQL expertise for setting up test data, validation, and database-level verification.

• Strong understanding of REST API testing, including HTTP methods, authentication, and response validation.

• Familiarity with a test management tool (Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar).

• **Desirable Skills & Experience

• ISTQB Foundation Level certification.

• Experience in API automation (e.g., Postman collections, Newman, RestAssured).

• Knowledge of performance or security testing.

• Basic scripting skills (Python, JavaScript, or similar) for generating test data or supporting automation.

• Background in the maritime, logistics, or regulated industry domains.
