Software Quality Engineer – LMS, EdTech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Automation & Test Engineering: Develop and sustain automation frameworks for Laravel backends and Moodle integrations utilizing Pest, PHPUnit, Playwright, or Cypress.

• AI Validation: Design strategies to evaluate AI-driven features, such as grading engines, response times, and personalized learning pathways.

• CI/CD Integration: Incorporate test coverage, quality gates, and automated release management into GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

• Performance & Reliability: Assist with load testing to accommodate significant student traffic volumes, and employ observability tools (Grafana, New Relic) for system health monitoring.

• Architecture Collaboration: Assess technical designs and establish testing strategies for LTI integrations, custom Moodle plugins, and external partner APIs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Test Automation: Comprehensive experience in testing Laravel-based APIs and E2E frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium).

• LMS Architecture: Understanding of Moodle's plugin ecosystem, hook mechanisms, and fundamental testing patterns.

• DevOps & Infrastructure: Strong experience in configuring CI/CD pipelines, Docker, SQL databases, and cloud services (AWS/Azure).

• Observability: Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or New Relic.

• Desirable Qualities: Background in EdTech (SCORM, xAPI, LTI compliance) or testing non-deterministic LLM latency/AI prompts. A metrics-driven mindset (DORA metrics, defect escape rates). Familiarity with Contract Testing (Pact) and WCAG accessibility standards.
