This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, maintain, and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios, emphasizing manual validation of intricate features and workflows.
• Conduct extensive manual testing, which includes functional, integration, and end-to-end validation throughout all phases of the SDLC (Development, Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing, Production).
• Execute thorough exploratory testing to identify edge cases, usability concerns, and gaps not addressed by existing test cases.
• Take ownership of and run manual regression test suites to verify the stability of existing functionalities, concentrating on high-risk and business-critical areas.
• Utilize knowledge to navigate data and backend processes using SQL queries, ensuring accurate data flow and system functionality.
• Conduct manual API testing utilizing tools such as Postman to validate request/response formats, error handling, and data consistency.
• Identify, document, and monitor defects with comprehensive reproduction steps, severity/priority evaluations, and comparisons of expected versus actual outcomes.
• Collaborate with developers to facilitate prompt resolution of issues.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, refine acceptance criteria, and ensure that test coverage meets business objectives.
• Assist in release activities by conducting pre-release and post-deployment validation testing to confirm production readiness.
• Identify opportunities to improve manual testing practices, enhance test coverage, and refine QA processes.
• Contribute to documentation and provide mentorship to junior QA team members on testing methodologies and best practices.
• Ensure all testing activities and associated documentation comply with regulatory standards, including data integrity, audit trails, and validation criteria in clinical research software.
• 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance with a significant focus on manual testing.
• Profound understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and best practices in manual testing.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and executing detailed manual test cases and exploratory testing approaches.
• Practical experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
• Strong SQL proficiency for backend and database validation.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar applications.
• Familiarity with test automation concepts and working alongside automation engineers (hands-on automation experience is advantageous but not mandatory).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and active participation in sprint ceremonies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with outstanding attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly convey defects, risks, and test results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
