Software Engineering Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the development, testing, and maintenance of efficient, scalable microservices.

• Supervise the design, implementation, and enhancement of machine learning pipelines.

• Lead the conceptualization of new features.

• Mentor and support junior engineers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise and execute innovative data-driven solutions.

• Work closely with DevOps to ensure seamless deployment and scaling of microservices.

• Propel architectural advancements for high-performance, fault-tolerant systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with general-purpose programming languages such as Java, Python, or Golang.

• Demonstrated leadership experience with the capability to guide and mentor a technical team.

• Proficient in cloud platforms, especially AWS.

• Familiarity with essential AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3.

• Understanding of large-scale data processing technologies, including Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis.

• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Exposure to machine learning workflows.

• Strong comprehension of software architecture.

• Awareness of security best practices.

• Proficiency in automated testing, including unit, integration, and performance tests.

• Agile experience: Familiarity with Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
