Software Engineering Intern, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver technically complex projects from conception to completion in a dynamic, iterative setting.

• Take ownership of features, services, caches, and databases, which includes deployment, monitoring, debugging, and testing.

• Produce production-ready, thoroughly tested code within your first week.

• Engage with our product analytics backend service and our data pipelines.

• Act as a representative for our data-driven culture, transforming data to support analysis, insight generation, and informed decision-making.

• Ingest, clean, validate, and organize raw data effectively for both product and analytical purposes.

• Assist in shaping data strategies across systems within the organization to ensure consistent and predictable data consumption.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand current processes and work together to design and implement enhanced and automated workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 months of backend development experience, ideally with exposure to a dynamic startup or scaleup environment.

• A solid understanding of relational databases and proficiency with SQL.

• Quick learner, regardless of the programming languages and technologies involved.

• Proven experience in taking ownership and delivering entire features from start to finish.

• Enjoy solving complex problems with logical, well-thought-out solutions.

• Interest in working with ETL/ELT tools and constructing data pipelines.

• Keen on utilizing Python for backend development.

• Enthusiastic about designing schemas and data modeling.
