Software Engineering Consultant – AI Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical vision and development standards for APIs, SDKs, and AI platform services.

• Oversee the architecture of intricate solutions, ensuring that the orchestration of agents and AI services is scalable and resilient to enterprise-grade standards.

• Act as a technical advisor to leadership and teams, aiding in decision-making regarding emerging technologies and cloud-native infrastructure.

• Promote engineering best practices (Clean Code, Design Patterns, Security) and foster a culture of quality within the Data & AI directorate.

• Design and refine technical governance to ensure that distributed systems comply with stringent observability and security requirements.

• Identify and alleviate structural technical risks before they affect operations or the AI product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated success in backend development using Node.js and Nest.js in high-stakes environments.

• Proficiency in distributed systems architecture and microservices patterns (Event-driven, Saga, CQRS).

• Extensive knowledge of Cloud ecosystems (preferably Azure: AKS, Event Hub, Cosmos DB, Redis, MongoAtlas).

• Advanced expertise with modern infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, Service Mesh, and complex traffic management.

• Skilled in communication protocols: REST APIs, gRPC, WebSockets, SSE, and asynchronous messaging.

• Experience in Security and Governance: implementing OAuth 2.0, mTLS, and advanced identity/credential management.

• Strong understanding of DevOps and IaC: Terraform, Ansible, and automation of complex CI/CD pipelines.

• Strategic Differentiators:

• Background in R&D or implementation of AI Agent Architectures (LangChain, LangGraph).

• Comprehensive knowledge of Language Models (LLMs) and cost/performance optimization techniques (RAG, fine-tuning).

• Proven involvement in Open Source projects or active participation in technical communities as a speaker/author.

• Systemic vision: ability to perceive beyond code, recognizing the impact of technology on Vivo's business.
